Happy Summer to all! As I celebrate six months in my role as Chief Operations Officer for Drug Products at CordenPharma, I’m filled with pride and excitement – not just for this editorial opportunity, but for the incredible journey so far and what lies ahead for Drug Products across our organization.
Joining CordenPharma has been an eye-opening and energizing experience. Working at a CDMO is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Each day, I’m inspired by the dedication, agility, and passion of our teams. In an industry where plans can shift overnight and expectations are constantly increasing, my colleagues consistently rise to the occasion. Their ability to adapt, stay focused, and build strong partnerships with our clients is what makes this journey so meaningful. Every time we overcome a challenge or deliver on a promise, we earn trust – and that trust is the cornerstone of long-term success.
With 27 years in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, I’ve experienced pressure in many forms – but the pace, scale, and complexity at CordenPharma is truly next-level. And it’s nothing short of inspiring to see how our teams not only handle it but thrive in it.
From day one, I’ve been impressed by the breadth of capabilities in our drug product facility network across six technology platforms. Each site visit has revealed new technologies, dosage forms, and client solutions – so much so that it took some time to absorb it all. While our offerings are strong, there are still capabilities we aim to develop. I see these not as gaps, but as exciting opportunities to invest, expand, and evolve with your growing project needs.
What stood out the most in these first six months? Having been a CDMO customer myself in my previous roles, I see clearly how CordenPharma goes far beyond manufacturing. We offer true end-to-end support, from developing and manufacturing new medicines and supplying them over your entire drug lifecycle to managing complex, multi-site supply networks, including handling cross border material flow. Your important feedback in our recent customer survey confirms: this model delivers real value. That motivates us to keep aligning, standardizing, and collaborating more closely across our network. When we streamline our processes, we drive transparency, increase efficiency, and elevate services. That’s a win for us and an even bigger win for our customers across all six technology platforms.
One of the most fulfilling parts of my role is connecting – whether it is with colleagues across the network or with clients around the world. These conversations are invaluable. They help me better understand what our customers need and how we can keep improving.
Looking ahead, I’m incredibly optimistic. The investments being made across our network are bold and strategic. With that comes responsibility: from managing projects effectively while smoothly running daily operations to spending money wisely and demonstrating strict discipline in delivering our financial goals. These efforts aren’t just about performance today; they’re about building the foundation for our future CDMO partnership together.
Above all, I’m proud. Proud to be part of this exceptional organization. Proud of our people and purpose. And proud to support you, our customers, in delivering life-changing medicines to millions of patients and caregivers around the globe.
